Post Commander; Calvin L. Marcellis

I was born September 1st 1970 at St. Josephs hospital in Milwaukee , WI . I attended school in Milwaukee , Camp Douglas , Oakdale and Tomah, graduating from Tomah Senior High 1988. I joined the army on July 28th 1988 as a Combat Engineer/Tracked Vehicle Crewman. I was stationed at Fort Leonard wood, MO.; Fort Hood , TX ; Camp Hovey South Korea , and Camp Howze , South Korea . I left active duty on June 27th 1998 and went into the Army Reserves as an MP in both the 6003rd and 6015th GSU’s. I left the military in 2000

I was married in 1990 for 13 years and had two daughters. My oldest daughter Tanna was born December 14th 1989 is 18 and lives in Texas with her mom. My youngest daughter Kasey was born July 23rd 1995 is 13 and lives here with me. I was a single dad until here recently. I married Sandi LaDue on the 8th of September 2007.

I was recruited by Mike Schoeny at the end of 2005 where I have been a continuous member in the post ever since. In November 2006 I asked the Post Commander about an Honor Guard and was informed the Post has a Firing Squad but no Honor Guard. I recruited the first members and together we formed the current Post Honor Guard. I was asked to be the Post Sgt @ Arms by Past Commander Jay Lewis upon his election to Post Commander which I accepted. I held that position until the end of 2007 when 1st Vice Adams stepped down. I was nominated and voted in by the Executive Board as his successor until the next Post election in May. At the elections in May I was nominated by the nomination committee for Post Commander, I accepted, there were no other nominees.

 

1st Vice Commander; Scott A. Johnson

       I was born February 27th 1970 here in Tomah at Tomah Memorial Hospital . I attended school in Camp Douglas , Oakdale and Tomah, Graduating from Tomah Senior High School in 1988. I entered the Army as a Combat Engineer on July 7th 1988. I completed Basic and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Leonard wood, MO. I was stationed in Alaska at Fort Greeley and Fort Wainwright until I left the Army on July 6th 1991. I completed training at NTC ( Fort Irwin , CA .) JRTC ( Fort Chaffee , AR. ) Jungle Warfare School ( Panama ) Mountaineering School ( Huckleberry Creek Mountain Training Center , WA .)

            I attended the University of Wisconsin Platteville from 1993 to 1998 majoring in education. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education in 1998.

            I was married August 13th, 1994 to Hilary Hohn. We have two children, our daughter Jewel Marie is 11 and our son Jay is 8.

            I was invited to the American Legion by Calvin Marcellis around the end of 2006 and have been a continuous member ever since. I am also one of the original members of the Post Honor Guard. I have been The Quartermaster for the Post Honor Guard since its inception.  

            I am currently employed with Team Eagle Systems on Fort McCoy as a Range Safety Officer/ Weapons Instructor.  

 


MICHAEL SCHOENY POST 201 ADJUTANT

I was born in Freeport, Illinois in 1955.  Moved to Wisconsin in 1980 and been here ever since.

VIET NAM ERA VETERAN in the Navy Seabees for 5 yrs as enlisted. 1973 – 1978

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Business Administration

I worked at Veterans Administration for 18 yrs, and Fort McCoy, WI currently in the Computer Dept.

Married to Cheryl Schoeny for almost 30 yrs, 2 sons both in the National Guard and in college

I have 26 years total in the military, 7 enlisted and rest as an officer in the reserves.  I Retired as a Major.

I joined the American Legion in 1985 and been in every position that there is in different posts.

My picture is down in Freeport, IL receiving my father’s coffin flag when he passed away. He was a WWII veteran.
